

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Barbara Joyce Kremers Edwards, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, at the age of 93, has passed away in Tampa, Florida, on June 19, 2026. Barbara was born on February 3, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Cecilia Josephine Kremers Westmoreland. She grew up in Helen, GA, and graduated from Vashti High School in Thomasville, GA. Barbara moved to Tampa, Florida, as a young woman in the early 1950’s and settled there for over 30 years. She managed and worked at Lynn Optical in the eye care industry on Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa, Florida, for 15 years. She had decided to move back to Helen, Ga to take care of her ailing mother. Barbara was a business owner in Helen, GA, where she owned and operated the Bar E Western Apparel store for 5 years and then went into Real Estate and worked at Mountain Lakes, Loreley Resort, Alpine Crest, and other Mountain Properties as a realtor, advertising and selling timeshares for 10 years. Barbara retired in her 70’s and enjoyed her family and home until selling and moving back down to Tampa, Florida, in 2020 to be close to her children.
Barbara enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, in addition to her beloved country home in Helen, Ga where she lived for nearly 50 years. She is preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia Josephine Kremers Westmoreland, and siblings Wayne Westmoreland and Mark Westmoreland.
Barbara is survived by a daughter, Victoria Stilgenbauer and her husband Randy Stilgenbauer, Tampa, FL; sons, Earl Hannaway, Jr. and his wife Charlotte Hannaway, Brooksville, FL., John Edwards of Brandon, FL.; grandchildren, Tina and Michael Moradiellos of Tampa, FL., Joseph and Angie Hannaway of Lubbock, TX., Adriana Mey and Trent Little of Tampa, FL., Scott Stilgenbauer and Amanda Stilgenbauer, Tampa, FL., Andy Hannaway of Brooksville, FL. and Janna Edwards of Orlando, FL. In addition, Barbara has 8 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Neena, Dominic, Kenley, Owen, Liam, Sofia, and Dean.
Barbara will be greatly missed. Her remains will be laid to rest at Clay Sink Cemetery next to her late husband, Miles Everett Edwards. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Clay Sink.
