Barbara Carol Meister

Barb was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Morton Lesh and Mary Lesh (Ducat). Barb graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1970. She went on to the University of Toledo, earning a bachelor’s degree in education in 1974.

Barb and Dave Meister were married 51 years ago on July 31, 1974 at Faith United Lutheran Church in Toledo. On November 30, 1980, their daughter Lori was born. Barb had two wonderful grandchildren who she loved dearly, Benjamin (born September 2014) and Braxton (born February 2016).

Barb’s preferred occupation was homemaker, but she also held various employment jobs over the years. She was a substitute schoolteacher, KinderCare preschool teacher, and worked at AAA Auto Club in club member services first and later insurance. Her most cherished time was in her later years as a volunteer for Westtown Christian Academy, her church’s preschool.

Barb’s Christian faith was at the heart of who she was. She loved and genuinely cared about everyone she met. She was actively involved in church life, with her greatest love being children.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and the many people whose lives she touched.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 6, 2025 at Westtown Church, 13521 Race Track Rd., Tampa, FL 33626.
