Meyer, Barbara Elizabeth, 89 died in her daughter’s home Saturday, June 6, 2026. Mrs. Meyer is preceded in death by her husband, David and her son, Jeffrey. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Horton and her grandchildren, Allie (Evan) Long, Jeffrey (Sandra) Horton, and Andrew Horton. She is also survived by her great grandson ,Waylon and her Sister, Marlene Kirby.
Barbara traveled to Afghanistan in 1963 for a job with the Agency for International Development where she met her husband, David who was in Army intelligence. Barbara then spent 13 years living overseas with her husband David and children and later joined the State Department. Barbara made Florida her home for the past 45 years and made an impression on everyone who crossed her path.
