At the age of 18, she wedded Elwood A. Smith. They raised 5 children. She started a Mother’s Day Out Program at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She loved childcare, taking care of animals, gardening, sewing and reading. She was married for 47 years until her husband’s death. Then she moved to a 55+ community in Lakeland where she spent her last 24 years.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610, US, on September 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Service at the same location from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, US, on September 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
