

Barry was born on July 20, 1959 to Carl and Betty in Salisbury, NC.
He spent his career with Bay City Plywood as one of the original hatchetmen and also with several departments with Tampa International Airport, where he spent the end of his career.
In 1980, he met JoAnn, and they wed in 1983, going on to have 2 children, Angela and Amanda.
Barry grew up surrounded with thrills and daring stunts of performers. He was captivated by the power and spectacle of monster trucks, and the high-speed excitement of NASCAR. A competitive spirit at heart, Barry loved playing cards with friends and family, always eager for a friendly game. A dedicated fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he cheered them on with unwavering enthusiasm during football season. He also had a love for his flower garden and the outdoors embarking on many hunting and fishing trips.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Barry was predeceased by his father Carl (1994) and mother Betty (2000). He is survived by his brother Lucky (Carl Jr.), wife JoAnn, daughters Angela and Amanda, and grandsons Riley, Caleb, and Benjamin, and lovingly extended family and friends.
A visitation for Barry will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home @ Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
