A funeral mass for Bernard will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Paul Catholic Church, 12708 N Dale Mabry HWY, Tampa, FL 33618 with the Father Bill Swengros, pastor of St Paul Catholic Church, as presider. Following the funeral mass will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Calvery Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave. N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
Bernard A. Montayre was born in Cebu City, Philippines to Deacon Maximo and Concepcion Montayre on January 5, 1967. He went to high school at Lane Technical High School and graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in science at Tampa. He worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Naphcare Correctional Health for three years. He was the director of the Third Order Lay Carmelites, St. Edith Stein Chapter 10410, Tampa, Florida, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Lector at St Paul Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida.
Bernard A. Montayre is preceded in death by his father, Deacon Maximo E. Montayre.
Bernard A. Montayre is survived by his mother, Concepcion; brothers, Arne, Joffre and Nelson; nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles from the United States, United Kingdom, and the Philippines.
