

Growing up on a farm, she, along with her 6 siblings, enjoyed feeding the farm animals and working the vegetable gardens. She enjoyed playing in the woods and running up and down the clay roads. During the summers, the family would pack a lunch and take off to Wrights Creek for an afternoon of swimming and eating.
Betty attended Bonifay High School, where she played on the girls' basketball team. After graduating in 1953, Betty moved to Tampa, Florida, and hired on with Peninsula Telephone Company and became an operator.
During this time, she met her future husband, William “Bill” Wynns. They married on November 26th, 1955. Together they had 3 children: William Delmas (1956–1998), Barbara Joyce (deceased 1958), and Jeriel David born 1961.
After leaving Peninsula, she worked for Mary Carter Paint Company before retiring in 1972. During her later years, she was part of the Meals on Wheels program. A devoted Christian, she played piano & organ for Highland & Lake Magdalene Churches.
She traveled the world on many cruises with her Sunday School class. Betty was an excellent mother & wife who loved to spend time with her family, cook, and work outside in the yard. She loved life and will be missed.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, Andrew, mother Corrine, and brothers Miliard, Elton, Jeriel, and Randell. Younger sister Margaret and brother Wendell still live in Bonifay.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Alderman – Pelote Cemetery, located at 990 Pelote Cemetery Road, Lithia, Florida 33547.
