

Beverly Newell Hensley passed peacefully from her sleep into heaven Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the home of her daughter in Merritt Island, FL. She was born on August 5, 1939 in Miami Florida, where she spent her childhood. She is survived by her four daughters, Dana Lisa Welch, Dinah Lauri Whitlock, Dona Lee North and Deborah Lynne Giles and one stepson, Larry W Hensley. She has 20 grand children, many great grand children, several nieces and a nephew. She is survived by her brother, Norman I Newell.
Beverly worked for the School Board of Hillsborough County for twenty one years. While living in Tampa, Florida, she met and married the love of her life, her late husband Clyde R Hensley. Beverly loved the Lord and it showed in her community service. Beverly was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and then Manhattan Avenue United Methodist Church. With Clyde, she helped establish the Faith Community UM Haitian Mission at Oak Grove. During her time as a member of Manhattan Avenue United Methodist Church, she worked in the church office and served as back-up in the child care center. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels and for Lifepath Hospice. Upon moving to Valrico, Florida, she became a member of New Hope Methodist Church and was active in Savannah Landings community activities.
Beverly moved to Merritt Island, Florida in 2023.
Beverly chose to have her remains cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Drive, Tampa, Florida 33610, with a luncheon and interment to follow. Friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Mederi Caretenders Hospice of Melbourne, Florida.
