Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1938, she was the cherished daughter of the late George E. and Helen (Eby) Leggett.
After graduating High School Beverly attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine to which she pursued a fulfilling career in nursing in Lancaster. On June 6th, 1959, she married her love, the late Harold E. Ressler, with whom she shared many beautiful memories. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Travis and Trevor (Karli) Tuma, Patrick (Tiffany), Ryan (Alaina), and Kelly Gossett and Kyle Cox and Courtney DeVries (Ben). All her grandchildren adored Beverly.
Affectionately known as "Bubbie" to her grandchildren, Beverly earned this endearing nickname when her eldest grandchild, mistook our nickname "Bevie" for "Bubbie." From that moment on, she was lovingly referred to as Bubbie by all who knew her. Additionally, she leaves behind four beautiful great-grandchildren: John Carter, Rory, Hayden, and Rocky Gossett. In her final moments, Beverly found solace in being able to spend time with her great grandbabies for the first time, in the final weeks before her passing. Beverly's love for music was evident throughout her life. As a valued member of the Otterbein Church in Lancaster, she joyfully participated in the choir, sharing her beautiful voice with the congregation. Her passion for music extended beyond the church walls, as she also delighted in playing the piano and singing.
In 1975 Harold and Beverly moved to Michigan where she worked many years as a Dental Assistant. During the later years of her life, Beverly found purpose and fulfillment in volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, dedicating an impressive 17 years to this selfless endeavor. Her compassionate nature and willingness to lend a helping hand made a lasting impact on both the patients and staff at the hospital. Through her volunteer work, Beverly not only contributed to the well-being of others but also formed deep and meaningful friendships that brought her immense joy. Her kind-hearted spirit and dedication to service will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
Beverly's playful spirit sparked her love for games and movies. Whether it was Trivial Pursuit, Charades, or any other game, she eagerly embraced the opportunity to play and engage with others. She loved a good comedy, one of her favorites was “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles”. She loved to go watch the grandkids play sports or Dance recitals. Whenever she could go, she did. Her enthusiasm and zest for life were contagious, and she brought joy to every gathering. Beverly's legacy will be remembered as one filled with a deep love for music, a compassionate heart for others, and an unwavering dedication to family and fun. Her warm presence and infectious laughter will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
