Carmen Luz Matos

Matos, Carmen Luz, 72, died peacefully on September 9, 2015 after a 4 year battle with cancer. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, she traveled the world as an Army wife settling in the Tampa Bay area in 1984. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Sergeant Major Santos A. Matos Jr. and survived by her children Annabel (Franca), Stephanie and Santos III. She had a beloved grandson, Enzo and granddaughter, Ava. She leaves behind 4 brothers and 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family and friends, especially her grandson Enzo. She was a longtime member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church and a member of the choir and women’s club there. She was an amazing woman who will be truly missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 17152 Lakeshore Road, Lutz, Fl 33558, on Saturday October 3, 2015. Family visitation will be at 10:30 am. Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 am. Reception in the church hall immediately following the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Children‘s Cancer Center, 49011 W. Cypress St, Tampa, Florida 33607.
