Carrie and Nelson’s children, Kenneth and Maggie Ferraro, their children Alyssa (Jenry), Jared (Brianna) and Sarah. Melanie and Cookie (Jose) Bibiloni, their son David (Amber).
Great grandchildren Adelina, Kainoa, Sunny Mae and Alianna; and many loving nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Carrie is a life-long resident of Tampa and as a child enjoyed 8 years in Key West. At the age of 17 she spent a year in Cuba before returning home, meeting her future husband at age 18. They were engaged for a year; marrying Nelson on May 17, 1953 at O.L.P.H. Catholic Church.
She was a loving person to all, and truly enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother! She always provided a happy and loving home. Inheriting her father’s green thumb and her mother’s seamstress talents, she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
It meant so much for her to see her family grow and prosper. Gatherings with family and friends were one of her greatest joys. They came with lots of hugs shared and the “best natilla” in town! Yum!
Motherly advice was given to all who asked or didn’t ask, even to strangers! Her petite size did not shy her away from being bossy, although in a very loving and funny way, and was known by many as ‘the boss’! This included telling the younger generation to pull up their pants!
Her love of reading was great. She was excellent in her grammar, correcting all, including strangers, when opportunity presented itself!
Music was another love she had, varying from big band groups, like Benny Goodman, and music ranging from the 50’s forward, christian hymns like Amazing Grace, country music like Patsy Cline, Mel Tillis, Alabama, Homefree and Alan Jackson to name a few. We can’t forget the ‘crooners’ or Alabama’s song Elvira, where you would find her tapping her foot to the tempo while singing along!
Carrie would not want sadness from us, but rather celebration that she was finally home with the Lord and through your faith will be with her again on your homecoming day!
God Bless each of you!
Written with love and happy memories!
