

Catherine Lawhon Seymour age 78 passed away peacefully on August 18th with her daughter Sherrie at her side. Cathy was born in Dover New Hampshire in 1946 and moved to Florida before her first birthday. She went to Adams Junior High and Chamberlain High School where she meet the love of her life, Raymond Seymour. Cathy was a corporate trainer with Telecredit and then retiring with JP Morgan Chase. Her job required a lot of travel, and she loved it. Cathy and Raymond were able to travel extensivity all over the world creating many great memories together. Cathy had an adventurous spirit becoming certified in scuba diving, parasailing, hot air balloon rides and hiking the Cinque Terra Blue trail. She was very involved with The Tampa Woman's Club in the 70's and 80's, was the President of Roy Haynes softball league and a docent at the Salvador Dali Museum. She loved being involved with her community and giving back. Together Cathy and Raymond started the Tampa Mustangs Girls Softball Organization in 1981 which is still going strong. Known around the softball field as Mama Mustang, there was nothing she enjoyed more than cheering on her Mustangs.
She is now at peace and with her Raymond. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond Seymour Jr, parents Neil and Antoinette Lawhon, sister Dorothy Lawhon and brother Neil Lawhon Jr.
Cathy is survived by her daughter Sherrie Steeper, husband Geoffrey her beloved grandchildren Beau and Lily, brothers Douglas Lawhon and Ernest Lawhon.
A memorial service to honor Cathy's life will take place at 6pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 at First Baptist of Lutz located at 18116 US Highway 41 N | Lutz, FL 33549. The family will begin to greet friends starting at 5:30pm and again after the service for a reception.
