Charles “Chuck” Wallace Horne, aged 49, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018, in St. Petersburg, FL, of a glioblastoma multiforme GBM tumor. He spent most of his adult life in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Marie Pardo (Yuniel), and son, Larry DiLorenzo; his sister, Jenny Lynn Moore (Jamie) of Lee and brother, Alan William Horne (Tammy) of Madison. He is also survived by his parents, Linda Louise Fleming and Marvin Horne, Jr. (Becky), of Madison; his grandchildren, Noel Jeremiah, Noemi Dinora, Gabriela Marie and Giana Marie Pardo; nieces, Victoria Ann Todd and Elizabeth Danielle Moore; nephews , David Michael Todd and Matthew William and Brandon Alan Horne. In addition to these, his former spouse, Dinora Melendez and other family members were very much a part of his life. He is predeceased by grandparents Marvin, Sr. and Jessie Horne and by Hezzie and Mary Lou Howard. He assured his family of his faith in Christ as his Savior.
For 17 years he was employed in the customer service department of ICARE Labs in St. Petersburg, where he made friends all over this country. Many coworkers visited during his long hospitalization and were almost like family to him. Chuck enjoyed traveling and was well-known as a “GPS” and helpful for anyone needing travel advice or restaurant recommendations. He was known for his addiction to good southern home-cooked food.The little grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he spent lots of time with them.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Visitation at 9 AM Friday, June 22, service at 10 AM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood Chapel , 3207 West Bearrs Avenue,Tampa, FL 33618 (exit 53 I 275, go West) with burial at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to do so may contribute to Big Bend Hospice, 275 Base Street, Madison, FL 32340.
