Christopher Clay Canedy

Chris was born in Houston, TX to Dorothy (Dot) and Clifton Canedy on February 7th, 1948. He was raised in Charlotte, NC until his senior year of high school, when his family transferred to Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Sandy Springs High School where he met his wife of 55 years, Conni Vanson Canedy. They both attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA, then married on April 17th, 1971, in Atlanta. They went on to have three children: Corbin Murphy (Kevin), Cameron Canedy and Clarke Canedy (Kelly).

After a long career in the financial services industry, Chris and Conni retired to Tampa in 2003, where they are active members of St. Timothy Catholic Church. Chris was an avid gardener, evidenced by the stunning gardens at their home.

In addition to his wife and children, Chris is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Helen Canedy (Sun City Center, FL), Randall and Linda Canedy (Mansfield, TX) as well as five grandchildren: Mallory Moreau, Caitlin Murphy, Bailey Murphy, Channing Canedy and Clifton Canedy.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Timothy Catholic church at a future date. His final resting place will be in Sandy Springs, GA.
