It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah “Debbie” Ann Mols, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left this earth on June 29, 2025, at the age of 72. Debbie was a lifelong resident of Florida – born in Tampa and lived most of her life in Valrico. We are sure the heavens opened up and the angels welcomed her with open arms.
Debbie, also called YaYa by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a light in every life she touched, known for her boundless creativity, infectious sparkle, and unwavering love for her family. She had a gift for making people feel special, often through the handcrafted cards and one-of-a-kind gifts she poured her heart into. Her creativity wasn’t just a pastime—it was her way of showing all the love she had in her heart. She would turn a dollar bill into an Origami Heart to show it was not about giving the money but the love she was giving. She was everyone’s champion – she freely gave her love, wisdom, and support. She was an inspiration to anyone who came to know her.
Debbie happily retired in 2017 after working as an Administrative Assistant for AECOM, an engineering consulting firm. Whether she was enjoying the thrill of a casino trip, planning her next travel adventure, or simply gathering around the table with family, Debbie lived life with joy and intention. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by the people she loved most, sharing stories, meals, and laughter.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David E. Mols, her beloved children, Jonathan Whitworth and Jamie Whitworth and his spouse Ivy; her loving parents, the late Harold “Robby” J. Robinson and Virginia Robinson; her siblings, Harold “Ron” R. Robinson, Becky S. Jarrett (Robinson) and her spouse, Steve Jarrett, and Cindy K. Robinson; and a countless number of more beloved family members and close friends who will hold her memory close in their hearts forever.
Debbie’s legacy is one of love, warmth, and creativity. While our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing her spirit will be with us forever —in every thoughtful note, every shared laugh, and every moment spent together.
A celebration of her life will be held on July 25, 2025, at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, on Friday, July 25, 2025, with visitation beginning at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or simply do something kind for someone else, just as she always did.
