

Dmeter was born in Steelton, Pennsylvania to Joe and Kathryn Dragovich on December 17, 1936. He married the love of his life, Sandra Milovich, on February 3, 1963 on a snowy day in Steelton. Dmeter worked as a bank auditor for 40 years at Bank of America and its legacy companies. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in France and enjoyed traveling around Europe and experiencing other cultures.
Dmeter shared a love for both his family and the Serbian Orthodox Church, where he served as the church president of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, Florida for many years. Dmeter was an active member of the church choir, and loved reading the epistle in church every Sunday.
Along with his faith, Dmeter shared a passion for his Serbian heritage, and raised his family with strong Serbian traditions. He was a lifetime member of the Serbian National Federation (SNF), and served as the president for SNF Lodge 208, St. Petersburg, Florida. Dmeter will be remembered by his family, friends, and the Serbian Orthodox community for his charming sense of humor and dedication to his family and the church.
Dmeter is preceded in death by his son, Christopher, and his parents Joe and Kathryn. He is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Sandra, his son, Dmeter Jr., daughter-in-law, Sharon, and his three granddaughters, Alexandra, Danielle, and Desa.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 22, starting at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Florida 33618. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, Florida 33513. Arrangements are by Blount and Curry Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.
