Don Vincent, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024, surrounded by his family at home, in Lutz, FL. He was born to Hugh Stemler Vincent and Pauline Rhodes Vincent in Fletcher, OH, on December 27, 1931. Don served his country in the Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. In 1955 Don married Connie Ketchersid also a Navy veteran. From 1956-1959 Don attended “The Ohio State University” graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business. During this time, he played college basketball for Ohio State. After graduation, Don went to work for the Farm Bureau in Columbus, Ohio. In 1966 he moved his family to Tampa, FL to work for Eshelman’s Feed. In 1968 Don went to work for ConAgra. In 1977 Don opened the first of many Feed Depots in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas. This year the Feed Depot’s will celebrate their 47th anniversary.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Connie, Sister Shirley Drake; his two sons, Mason Vincent (Julie), Michael Vincent (Stephanie); and his two daughters, Dawn Riddle and Michele Eddy (Scott); 16 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 12th, at 3:00 p.m. at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race Track Rd, Odessa, FL 33556. A light lunch will follow in the fellowship hall.
In place of flowers, memorials honoring the life of Don Vincent may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
