Donna Jean Turner

Donna Jean Turner, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Donna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend whose love touched the lives of so many.

Donna was born on February 5, 1944, in St. Louis County, Missouri. In her younger years, she met the love of her life, Donald “Don” Turner, and they were married on May 2, 1964. Together, Donna and Don shared a beautiful life filled with family, friendship, laughter, and many wonderful memories. In May of 1975, they moved to Florida, where they made their home and built the life they loved.

Donna was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She lovingly sewed clothes for her daughters, creating not only beautiful garments but treasured memories that will last forever. She later worked for Pinellas County Government as a Clerk of Court in Child Support, where she eventually retired.

One of Donna’s greatest joys was square dancing with Don and her dear best friend, Beverly Diamond-Morris. She loved music, dancing, shopping, and especially her jewelry. But more than anything, Donna loved people. She treasured her friends and family and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

Donna’s Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved God and Jesus Christ deeply, and her faith gave her strength throughout the many challenges she faced. Donna endured many illnesses over the years, but she was a fearless fighter and a true survivor. Her strength, courage, and determination were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

For the last five years, Donna was blessed to call Savannah Villages of Lakeland her home. She formed meaningful friendships there and was surrounded by people who cared for her.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Turner; her daughter, June Swan; her father, Armand Schlange; her mother, Aletha Heaton; her father-in-law, Marvin Turner (Carol); her mother-in-law, Ora June Gipson (Clyde); her sister, Dolores McNamara; brothers-in-law Marvin Turner (Edie) and William Turner (Beverly); sister-in-law Mary Jane Donahou (George); and nephews David Leicht and Brian Turner.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever, including her daughter, Jane Bolt, and son-in-law, Jimmie Bolt; son-in-law, Curt Swan; grandchildren, Lacie Conner (Phil), Samuel Swan (Crystal), and Haley Swan-Christie (Alyssa); and great-grandchildren Nolan Swan, Olivia Swan, Emily Swan, and Grayson Swan. She is also survived by her nephews, Alan Leicht (Amy), Kenneth Turner (Barbara), and Wayne Donahou (Priscilla); nieces Patti Clague (Scott) and Brenda Gibson (Chris); and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews who will miss her dearly.

Donna’s greatest legacy was the love she gave so freely. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved, and her family was truly the center of her world. Though her family will deeply miss her presence, her love, her laughter, her strength, and the memories she created will live on through each generation.

Donna may no longer be here to hold our hands, but she will forever hold a place in our hearts. Her faith, her love, and the beautiful life she shared with those around her will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at: Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood located at 3207 W. Bearss Avenue Tampa, FL 33618.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the home of Jimmie and Jane Bolt, located at: 4450 Redcoat Drive, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated The Rucki Hospice Care Center, 5760 Dean Dairy Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541, managed by Gulfside Healthcare Services.

The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful caregivers at The Rucki Hospice Care Center who provided Donna and her family with such loving, compassionate care during the final days of her life.

Rest peacefully, Donna. Your work here is done. You were deeply loved, you will be forever missed, and your memory will live on in all of us.
