Doris Mae McCurdy

Doris was born in Providence, RI to Mr. & Mrs. John Coop on September 15, 1929. She graduated from West High School in Pawtucket, RI and worked as a payroll clerk at a local business office. At a nuptial ceremony on February 9, 1957 she became the bride of John H. McCurdy Jr. She was a resident of Glocester, RI since 1967, previously living in Johnston, RI.

Mrs. McCurdy was a housewife, mother of 4 children, a woman of faith and always put family first-with all of her heart and soul. She was a devout catholic who attended church with her family every Sunday at St. Phillips in Greenville, RI. She loved to dance and sing. She enjoyed playing golf and dancing to Big Band music with her husband along with watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Her favorite TV shows were “I Love Lucy” and “Dancing with the Stars”.

Doris is survived by her son John H. McCurdy III and wife Laurie of Victor, New York; her son Ryan M. McCurdy and his wife Tammy of Davenport, FL ; her daughter Joanne Kuzdale and her husband Robert of Lutz, Fl; her niece Julie Bertrand of R.I., her daughter-in-law Mona McCurdy and 9 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband John H. McCurdy, Jr. and his son, Michael McCurdy; her brother Jack Coop and sister, Phyllis Sirois.

A wake will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Carrollwood on Thursday, August 13th from 2-4pm.

The funeral celebration will be held at 9:30am on Friday, August 14th at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Tampa, Fl. The celebrant at the mass of Christian Burial will be Fr. Chito Valenciano. The Rite of Committal (family only) will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell led by Deacon David Lesieur. Arrangements are by Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Carrollwood, Florida.

Pallbearers will be Robert Kuzdale,Christopher Kuzdale, Terry John McCurdy & Ryan McCurdy Jr.
