Dorothy Bradford, 95 of Tampa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July the 21st of 2026 of natural causes. She was born in the town of Bonnie Blue, Virginia in 1930. She was the child of Horace and Edrie Rose and moved to Florida in the 1940s. She married James C Bradford in 1950, and they remained married for 65 years until his passing in 2015. Dorothy and James were founding members at Trinity Presbyterian church from around 1948. Dorothy is survived by her two children Jim Bradford and Elaine Bradford: granddaughter Jacqueline, and great grandsons Connor and Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband James Bradford and brother Talmage.
Dorothy was devoted to her family, her church, and was an accomplished pianist. As a founding member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, she played the piano for worship services at the original North Boulevard location near downtown Tampa throughout the 1950s and 1960s and continued to serve in the church after the move to the current location Bearss Avenue and North Boulevard in North Tampa. She was blessed with the ability to play both by ear and by reading music.
Her professional career in the Interstate Trucking industry spanned more than 35 years, yet it was always secondary to her lifelong calling as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother—a role she cherished for over 76 years.
A graveside service will be held for Dorothy on Tuesday, August 4th at Garden of Memories Cemetery, located at 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, beginning at 1:00 PM.
