Wife and loving Mother, Dorothy Burkett Ray passed away October 22 at the home of her daughter, Dorothy R. Brown. She was 92. Dorothy was the wife of Dr. James Davis Ray, Jr. Dean Emeritus of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He passed away in 1990. She is survived by her four daughters: Dorothy R. Brown, Katharine Pierce, Susan Lopez, and Carolyn Ray-Peppe. She has nine grandchildren: James Brown, Christopher Brown, Jonathan Lopez, Martin Lopez, Colin Lopez, Matthew Pierce, John Daniel Ray-Peppe, Caroline Ray-Peppe, and Angeline Ray-Peppe and two great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Lopez and Jackson Lopez. Dorothy will be buried along-side her husband at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville, Mississippi, November 7.
