

Dorothy was born on February 28, 1927, in Boston, Massachusetts to Howard and Alice (James) Gray. Dot grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Dot had a short career as a Professional Model in the Baltimore area. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of South Florida. She was a Broker-Salesperson for Century 21 and a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club where she later retired from. She was a member of Belleair Country Club. She was a member of Anona United Methodist Church. She taught ballroom dancing for many years at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Florida. She enjoyed all types of dances, traveling, golf, dinner with family and friends, and shopping. She was a Sunday Morning Greeter at Anona United Methodist Church.
Dot married Robert Riggin Sr in 1951, where they moved to Tampa Bay area of Ruskin Florida. They were blessed with two sons, Robert Jr and John. After the passing of her husband in 1969, Dot found love again in 1996 to Tom Wachob where they got married that same year. Dot and Tom were “Snowbirds” between Kokomo, IN and Belleair, FL. While in Kokomo, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Kokomo Country Club, and Ladies Auxiliary. In 2007, they moved to Belleair, FL permanently.
Dot was preceded in death by her Parents; Husbands - Robert Riggin, Sr. (18 years until his death) and Tom Wachob, M.D. (21 years until his death); Son - John Riggin; Sisters - Ada Raynal, Marion Showalter; and Brothers - Howard Gray, Robert Gray.
Survivors include Son - Robert Riggin Jr. (June), Warner Robins, GA; Daughter-In-Law - Nanelyn R. Riggin, St. Petersburg, FL; Grandchildren – Mandy Brunke (Eric), Hollywood, MD, Rob Riggin, Warner Robins, GA, Victoria Wilson (Quinton), McChord Air Force Base WA, Rick Riggin, Warner Robins, GA, Zavannah Riggin, St. Petersburg, FL; Great-Grand Children - Alex and Katie Brunke, Hollywood, MD, Emma Riggin and Hadley Riggin, both of Warner Robins, GA, Jace and Daniel Wilson, both of McChord Air Force Base WA.
Step-Children – William Wachob of New York, Robert Wachob of Missouri, Thomas Wachob of California, James Wachob (Christa) of Indiana, and Carol Calvert (Mike) of Ohio; sixteen Step-Grandchildren and three Step-Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. And Special Little Friend, Kathalia Mullarkey, St. Petersburg, FL.
A memorial service celebrating Dot’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Anona United Methodist Chapel at 13233 Indian Rock Road, Largo, Florida, with Reverend Jeremy Herrington officiating. Friends are invited to visit with family from 1 until 2 before celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dot’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
