

TAYLOR, Doyle J., 97, of Tampa, entered into rest June 24, 2015. He retired from Hillsborough County as an Entomologist. Doyle was a member of Riverside Baptist Church for many years; he also served as a deacon and ministered to the elderly and shut-ins. He proudly served our country as a Medical Officer in the Army during WWII. He was a Gideon for 30 years, an avid blood donor with over 10 gallons donated and a resident of John Knox for the last couple years. Doyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia, and his four siblings. He is survived by his son, Andrew “Drew” Taylor and his wife, Margo; daughters, Barbara Lynn Taylor and longtime partner, Mary Tomsu, and Rachel Rubottom and her husband, Doug; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday, June 29 and funeral service at 10 am Tuesday, June 30. All services will be held at Garden of Memories, Tampa. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to Gideons International Tampa Northeast Camp PO Box 7812 Tampa, FL 33672. Doyle will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.
