Drucilla Ann Fernandez

It is with great sadness that the family of Drucilla Ann Fernandez announces her passing on Friday, October 11, 2019, at the age of 72 years. She was born on November 30, 1946 to Jose Maria and Dalia Fernandez.

Drucy will be lovingly remembered by her children Ashley (Kevin), Anthony (Kelly) and Alan (Carrie) and her six grandchildren Taylor, Christopher, Ava, Amelia, Anna and Addison.

Drucy will also be fondly remembered by her large extended family, including her uncle Al (Yolie), brothers Eddie (Sylvia) Fernandez and Ray (Jonni) Fernandez. She is also survived by her adoring nieces and nephew Edie (Steve) Backman (children Ryan, Lindsey and Alex), Stacy (Russ) Pratt (children Tyler and Jake), Elon Fernandez and Marty (Chris) Neukamm (son Marshall).

A native of Tampa, Drucy attended Jefferson High School and graduated in 1964. She grew up in Ybor City where her family owned a grocery store and moved to Lutz in the early 1970s. Drucy was loved by many patients at Pediatric Neurology Associates where she worked as the office manager for 30 years. Her first love was her family and she spent her free time cooking for them, watching her grandchildren’s activities and hosting family gatherings.

A celebration of Drucy’s life will be held on Friday, October 18 at Blount Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, Fla. 33618. The family will receive guests at 10 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m.
