Eileen was born on January 16, 1935, in Reading, Ohio, to Marguerite and John M. Ryan. She attended Ursuline Academy, Mount St. Joseph University, earned her B.S. at Oakland University, and completed her M.S. at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College. She found a meaningful career counseling individuals struggling with substance abuse, and while she left Ohio at age 21, she found home in Michigan, Virginia, and Florida, cherishing friendships old and new along the way.
She was known for her love of family, friends, and church, her sense of humor and wit, and her beauty. Drawn to colors as vibrant as she was, she often wore and decorated her home in shades of turquoise, pink, and her signature blue which brought out the blue of her eyes. More than anything, she loved sharing stories about her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and she went to great lengths to stay in touch with loved ones, no matter the distance between them. A woman of abiding faith, Eileen loved the Lord and His holy church. To the end of her days, she radiated the peace and assurance that flow from abundant life in Him.
Eileen was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Uehlin Gorman, John Ryan, and Julia Henner, husbands Robert A. Linn and J. Lander Allin, Jr., and longtime partner, George T. King, III. She is survived by daughter Nancy Ann (Neil Langberg) Linn of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, son Thomas Patrick (Julie) Linn of Marshville, NC, son Michael Joseph (Rosalie) Linn of New York, NY, daughter Mary Lisa (Peter) Laches of Tampa, FL, grandchildren, Hillary (Chanlir Segarra) Humphey, Natalie (Max) Rieves, Ryan (Haley) Linn, Jake (Anna Grace Hilbish) Linn, Adrianna Linn, and Morgan “Keeto” Linn, as well as her stepchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom she cared for deeply.
