Emilio Fernandez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emilio Fernandez, a phenomenal husband,

father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who left us on December 20, 2024, at the age of ninety-six.

Born on November 28, 1928, in Ybor City of Tampa, Florida, a 1948 Graduate of Hillsborough High School and Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Emilio was a man of unwavering strength, kindness, humor, and determination. He was the pillar of our family and the steady hand that guided us through joyous occasions and challenges. To his wife, Alice, he was not just a loving husband but a caring and endearing

companion. To his children, he was an inspiration and an endless source of unconditional love.

Beyond his 44 years of professional achievement with Tampa Armature Works, Emilio found his greatest joy in the company of his family. Whether sharing stories at the dinner table or simply sitting in quiet companionship while working on Sudoku he made every moment meaningful. Emilio is survived by his wife of 75 years, Alice Camero Fernandez, his adoring children, son Michael S. Fernandez, M.D. (deceased) and Suzanne, Kristopher E. Fernandez and Susan, Eric G. Fernandez and Elena and Alyson C. Fernandez; his grandchildren, Nathan E. Fernandez, David E. Fernandez, Paul Fernandez, Matthew Fernandez and Julie Fernandez; his great-grandchildren, Eli E. Fernandez, Gideon A. Fernandez and Zoe N. Fernandez.

His physical presence is no longer and the void left is substantial. Still, he will be forever cherished, and Emilio Fernandez's memory will remain.

A Memorial Service for Emilio Fernandez will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, 3501 W. San Jose Street, Tampa, FL 33629.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that mirrors Emilio's benevolent heart.
