Emilio Rodriguez, 95, passed away Friday, December 7 to be with our lord. He is preceded by his wife Marie and son Dennis. He is survived by his lovely daughter, Lori Jo, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, beloved family and friends as well as his caretaker. Emilio was a caring father and husband. He proudly served his country during WWII as a naval midshipman and was honorably discharged. He and his wife Marie were avid musicians and for years were known as Emilio Roddey. He started the popular band and played at the Floridian Hotel where he played trumpet and drums. He also worked as a real estate broker and contractor. He built many homes in the West Tampa area. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14 beginning at 10 AM with service at 11:00 AM at the Blount and Curry at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Ave., Tampa 33610.
