Born on January 2, 1942, in the farming town of Güira de Melena - Habana, Cuba, Emma was the cherished daughter of Fernando and Francisca Hernandez. At only the age of two she lost her mother but was greatly blessed by the maternal love and guidance of Fela Alfonso, who was an inspiring mother to her. She grew up as one of 12 close-knit siblings, sharing a deep, lifelong bond with her brothers and sisters.
Emma was a natural peacemaker who brought harmony and kindness to everyone she met. She is now beautifully reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Angelito Izquierdo. Her family takes great comfort in imagining the rapture of their celestial reunion.
Together, Emma and Angelito raised two amazing daughters, Leslie Garcia (husband, Pidy), Lisette Hernandez (husband, Noel). Forever bonded, they will continue their life journeys guided by the strength, love, and examples set by their parents. Emma’s legacy also shines brightly through life's two rare gems—her beloved grandchildren, Sebastian and Gabriella Hernandez. Till her very last moments, they brought a huge smile of pure joy to her face.
The family is filled with profound gratitude for her caregivers, Claudia and Haydelen, who became an entire blessed family to Emma and Hernandez/Garcia family. A heartfelt thank you to all the family and friends too.
A service to celebrate Emma’s beautiful life will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610, Sunday, June 21, 2026.
