Francis C. Lovetere, 87, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2026. Born in East Boston, Massachusetts, Francis lived a life defined by service, family, and a genuine desire to help others. Francis proudly joined the United States Navy shortly after graduating high school and honorably served for four years. After a brief career in a machine shop, he found his calling in Human Resources, spending 30 years as a Personnel Director with the Federal Government.
Francis had a natural gift for giving advice. He was never shy about offering his opinion—whether it was asked for or not—but his words always brought some level of value. His brothers, children, and those who knew him often looked to him for his wisdom, perspective, and honest guidance. He was the kind of man people naturally gravitated toward when they needed someone who had been there before.
Francis is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Lovetere; his sons, James Lovetere and his wife, Nancy Lovetere; John Lovetere and his wife, Kim Lovetere; and Frank Lovetere Jr.; and his grandchildren, Dominick Lovetere, Christian Lovetere, and Ashleigh Gordon.
Francis leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lessons, and love. His greatest legacy is the family he devoted his life to and the wisdom he passed on to those he loved.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be conducted at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513, at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 20th, 2026. Please arrive 20 minutes early.
