Forever grateful for our boat days. Welo would always grab a hand full of seaweed and set it on top of my head knowing how frightened I was of all the things under the water. He would laugh and give me a big hug. He always found a way to make us smile and looking back at this specific memory, he taught me to not be afraid.

Welo was known for many things like his talent for woodworking, his love of fishing, and his famous café con leche. He was an incredibly skilled woodworker who could make just about anything with his hands. He was also the best captain on the boat, always enjoying a day on the water and creating memories we will cherish forever. He was the keeper of the Cuban cigars, the storyteller, and someone who always had something to teach us. Above all, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who loved his family dearly and would do anything for us.

I will always cherish our time on the water. Frank was like a father to me and I looked up to him as such. We would sit out in the ocean for hours sometimes and not say a word. I loved hanging out with Frank and of course a good cigar.

I always loved when Frank and Verda would travel to visit. We always loved being with them.

Frank always found time to be at his grandkids events. That meant more to me than he knew. Always a good father figure.

Frank was a great mentor to me. I will always be greatful for our friendship. I will miss him dearly.

Welo and I danced  at my sister’s wedding. 
I remember apologizing for my makeup getting all over his suit and he responded “It’s okay baby” as he wiped my foundation off of his shoulder and smiled at me. 
He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart.

He held my Weli’s hand everywhere they went. She was the light of his life.

We had an anniversary dance at our wedding in 2023. Couples took to the dance floor and slowly began to take their seat as only those married for the stated amount of years were to remain dancing. As the years counted up, the dance floor continued to clear out until only my Weli & Welo were left. Having been married for 64 years at the time, they were the last ones standing.

We did a first look at my wedding with my grandparents, this was my Welo’s reaction to seeing me in my wedding my dress.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Frank was a great neighbor he always working in the yard or in the shop. He will be missed very much. Thanking of you and family at this time. If you ever need anything I am right next door.
