Willie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A dedicated member of Iglesia de Jesucristo el Buen Samaritano Inc. M.I., his faith was the cornerstone of his life. He proudly completed his studies as a graduate of the Theological Bible Institute, deepening his lifelong devotion to God. Known for his warm heart and friendly smile, he served his community for decades as a beloved school bus driver in Massachusetts.
A man of many passions, Willie had a deep love for music. He played the guitar for over 30 years and enjoyed playing the keyboard, bringing joy to those around him through song. At home, he found peace in landscaping and gardening, taking great pride in keeping his yard vibrant and full of life. In his younger years, Willie spent his days fishing and weightlifting. Above all, Willie was immensely proud of his family. He placed a high value on higher education, encouraging his children to pursue learning and reach their full potential. His greatest joy was his role as a grandfather, treasuring every moment spent with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Javier Berrios and Maximina Rosa; his brothers, Angel D. Berrios (survived by Wanda Garcia) of Lawrence, MA, and Geraldo Berrios of Haverhill, MA; and his sisters, Maria Gloria Berrios of Lawrence, MA, and Maria Carmen Berrios (survived by Orlando Diaz) of Bradford, MA.
Willie is survived by his loving wife, Ana “Anita” Berrios; his children, Gabriel Berrios Jr. of Lawrence, MA, Jonathan Berrios of Zephyrhills, FL, Nadya Berrios of Lawrence, MA, Janiris Matos of Lawrence, MA, and Jovanny Lopez of Waltham, MA; his brother, Miguel Berrios of Lawrence, MA; and his sisters, Lucy Santiago (Victor) of Methuen, MA, Maria Antonia Santiago (Pedro) of Andover, MA, Miriam Berrios of Bradford, MA, and Aloida Berrios of Lawrence, MA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Zuriel Berrios, Zara Matos, and Melani Matos, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, US, on September 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and then Visitation from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the same location.
