Miss you George and think of you often. Especially when the military jets fly over head. RIP

Rest in peace Buddy. We had lots of fun as roommates in Miami. Miss you and fond memories.

One who will be missed. George had a zest for life and will be truly missed by all. Just thinking about our New York layover with Walt- George had class-💕❤️💕

Darla,
So sad to here about George, he always had a smile, and never heard a bad word about anyone from him,. I remember when we went to school at Boeing on Jan, 1,1979, when we got to Seattle it was dinner time, George wanted to change clothes, he opened his suitcase and dumped it on the bed, there wasn't a piece of clean clothing to be found, he said, I was planning on doing all my wash when we got here. He will be missed, sorry for your lose.

The ”Great Niño” has departed the building. George, my good friend, blue skies and fair winds. We had so many wonderful times together, most unrepeatable in a public forum such as this. Boats, Black Beauty, the Florida Keys,……….. the list goes on and on. Mike and Kelly still “remind” me of our escapades, most of which I have to deny, deny, deny. I will miss your infectious laughter and wit. Save me a seat for our next rendezvous, I love you Niño. See you there.

I am so sorry to hear that Captain George Ward has passed. George certainly was one of a kind and will always be remembered particularly for his humor and love of life. Now sadly although I have not spoken with him since the Air Florida days, my memory of him today is still as fresh as it was the first time I met him. He certainly had this "Joie de Vie" as he always seemed to be having fun and living life to the fullest. This caused some of us to wonder what his secret was. Well obviously now it was no secret, it was the love of his life "Darla"
Rest in Peace. Art Lynch

George – I will always treasure the memories of all the crazy times we shared and want to say a big thank you to you and Darla for being great Miami neighbors. Thank you especially for your support when times were tough. Also thank you for adopting, spoiling and loving the kitties – you gave them kitty paradise. I think of you every time I see military jets flying overhead so I want to also thank you for your service to our country. I miss you El Nino and hope there is music where you are so you can turn up the volume when those great 60’s songs are playing. RIP – Love, Kathy

Dar-dar, Let me begin by telling you how terribly sorry I am to have heard of the passing of your beloved Niño. As my memories rush by, in the past 35 years I can think of no better, loving, and devoted friends than you and George. I was truly blessed and I will miss Nino tremendously. I grieve for you my old friend because I know of the unconditional love and devotion you had for one another and how you must be hurting. I am sending George wishes for clear, beautiful blue skies and heavenly glory. He was a phenomenal guy and will be missed by all those who love him. Sending prayers, love, and hugs to my best friends forever. Godspeed my friend❣️🥰🙏

Many people pass through our lives, only a few stay forever❤️ Georgie was a special person that will stay in your heart forever. He didn’t know a stranger and I’ve never seen a more generous man, to a fault at times but his heart was always in the right place.
There have been so many wonderful times with Uncle Nino Aunt Dar Dar & John. God Speed, My Friend✈️

God Speed

Darla...
So sorry for your loss...May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him...

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Ward's passing. When I was little, I used to always think he was the most fun "adult" to be around. Even though I was a kid, he always included me in conversations and always made me laugh. This photo of Carlisle, my mom and Mr. Ward has always made me smile which is why I still have it to this day. He brought love, joy and smiles into the hearts of many...especially a little kid that thought he was a big kid. ❤️😘

I shared many memorable flights with George at Air Florida. Great story teller and a walking encyclopedia for music trivia. Fondly remember a layover in Toledo, Ohio where a music trivia contest was held in the bar that night. George won hands down. Nobody knew music like George.
I will miss your infectious smile

George, you will be missed. I always looked forward to flying with you. I could count on learning something new, and for sure it was not going to be boring. You were one of the good ones. Rest in peace my friend.

George was one of a kind! Remember the time he fought with the Butterball turkey hotline lady about how to roast a turkey? She hung up on him! So funny. ❤️

George, you are one of the most talented aviators I have ever met. A little on the crazy side, which is probably why you and I got along so well; two crazies in one cockpit. Despite a little turbulence here and there in your journey, You were loved and respected by many. Even today, I have many “George” stories and Debbie and I will always remember “Anne”. ( Darla, it’s when we pulled the wool over you’re hubby and one of the best “got-ya” stories ever. ) George, save a seat for me. Until we meet again my friend. !! God-Speed!

George, my Amigo. We were room mates at
Fountain Blue Park in the beginning at Air Florida. We had so many good times. I miss you Buddy, even though I haven’t seen you in a long time. So many good memories. May you Rest In Peace. Love you man.

Dear Family,

It's been many decades since our lives in Miami at Air Florida, but I've not forgotten fun times with George and Darla both in the air and on the ground.

Wishing you all peace, love, and good memories to sustain you in this time of sadness.
