Gerald Lane Vanderford

Born Dec. 20th. 1948 in Tampa FL. to Robert (Bob) and Mary (Betty) Vanderford. Died at the Tampa VA Hospice Center on 7/5/2026.

Jerry was a loving husband to his wife Mary L. Vanderford, father to Vickie R. Vanderford and “Popman” to his grandson Josh L. McDaniel of Tampa, FL. In his earlier years Jerry enjoyed boating, fishing and snorkeling in the Keys with family and friends and woodworking. Jerry served four years in the Army during the Vietnam War maintaining and patching up war torn helicopters. He also worked several years at Westinghouse and several years in maintenance for Bank of America.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Robert L. and Mary (Betty) Webb Vanderford and younger brother Stephen W. Vanderford as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors include his wife Mary L. Vanderford, daughter Vickie R. Vanderford, grandson Joshua L. McDaniel (Tampa), great grandson Weston J. McDaniel (Lake Wales), brother Joseph A. Vanderford (wife Karen) of Phenix City, AL., niece Shannon Kay (husband Michael) and family, nephew Allen Vanderford (wife Maureen) and family of Phenix City, AL. and aunt Dorothy Collins and family of Longwood, FL.

A private celebration of life will be held by family members to be determined at a later date.
