Geraldine DeMott

Geraldine was born Marjorie Geraldine Lewis, in Trilby, Florida on Thursday, July 14th, 1927, to mother Curtis Christine Lewis (née Whitman) and father Marion Franklin Lewis. She graduated from Hillsborough High School (Tampa, Florida) in 1945 and married Herbert A. DeMott on August 12th, 1949. A Christian, Geraldine regularly attended and was a long-time member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church (now Waters Avenue Baptist Church) in Tampa, Florida.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Herbert DeMott; parents Marion Lewis and Curtis Connell (Lewis), Stepfather Guy Connell; stepsisters Barbara and Guynell Connell. She is survived by her sons Randy DeMott (Gail); Michael DeMott (Brenda); grandchildren Emily Simpson, Stefanie Pierce (Kyle), Michelle Hauck (Stephen), Sara Newman (Jordan); great-grandchildren Travis Simpson, Nora Pierce and Ella Hauck; brother-in-law Ron DeMott, niece Judy Lanuti (Dan); nephew Christopher DeMott (Michele) and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Avenue Tampa, Florida on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service. Friends and family are invited to refreshments, served immediately following the graveside service at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home.
