Glenda Carol McElhaney

McElhaney, Glenda, 75, passed away May 31, 2016. She is predeceased by her mother, Alice McElhaney and her brother, Kenneth Whetstone. She is survived by her brother, Robert McElhaney and her sisters, Pat Robinson and Alma Muncey. Although she had no natural children, she was like a second mother to her nieces, Vickie Holtsclaw, Sherri Robles and nephew, Alan Robinson; as well as many others whom she helped raise in her many years as a dorm mother at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in North Georgia. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, the Muncey family in Tampa and the Whetstone family of California. She was a caring loving soul who had an infectious laugh, generous to a fault and quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. All her life, she was a caregiver, most recently to her sister Pat. Her greatest joys were those times spent with family and her three great-great-nieces, Callie, Brooke and Charlie Stokes. A memorial service to honor Glenda’s earthly life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W.
