On December 7, 1948, he was born in Geneseo, IL, to William Edward Presser and Caroline Josephine Pacek.
Glenn was a graduate of the Chamberlain High School in Tampa. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1974, where he enjoyed many adventures in the Mediterranean.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and proudly supported the Mount Dora Children's Home. You would likely find him attending functions and out-bidding others on silent auction items, and then sharing the prizes.
Glenn had many nicknames. He was referred to as "Gleep" in the navy, combining his first, middle, and last name. Also known as "Porkchop" at the Three Coins Diner, he never missed an opportunity to join his breakfast buddies. He was also a member of the MSGs (Mature Singles Group), made up of many widows and single church members who gathered monthly for games. Often the only male in attendance, he was referred to as the "Rooster" in the hen house.
Glenn had many talents. He could fix just about anything, and many came to him for advice. Fixing things and performing acts of service was how he showed love to others. A human GPS, he could give directions and tell you where anything is located. He loved going on car trips and could drive for hours. The mountains were his happy place.
A sentimental guy, Glenn loved his family and friends dearly. He shared that love with many foster children throughout the years. He had a sharp memory and could tell tales from years past. "Gabbing with Glenn" always involved exciting and detailed stories. He also enjoyed watching musical movies or tunes on YouTube, often bringing tears to his eyes.
Mr. Presser is survived by his daughter Emily Crouch of New York and his son Oliver Presser and grandchild Knight Hayes Lee Presser of Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Presser, and brother Don Presser.
A memorial service will be held at the North Tampa Church of Christ, on May 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with arrangements made by the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood.
In lieu of flowers for Glenn Presser's Memorial Service, Emily and Oliver have requested donations be sent to Mt. Dora Children's Home. Glenn was a long-time supporter of Mt. Dora.
