The late Dr. Hanns Kwabena Frimpong, affectionately called, Kwabena Hanns was born on October 31, 1991 at Sampa, in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana to Mrs Agnes Frimpong and the late Elder Stephen Frimpong both from Sikaa in Nkoranza. Kwabena was the second of three siblings. He started his education at “Sampa Kofi Sno Preparatory School”, and then to “My Redeemer Preparatory School” when his parents relocated to Accra. Due to his academic excellence, he took the BECE examination in form two and passed. He gained admission to Ghana National College in Cape Coast in 2003, where he continued his education until he came to the US in 2005. On September 11, 2005, he was enrolled in Hillsborough High School. He started in 9th grade, but within two weeks he was placed in 11th grade, and again placed in 12th grade a week after. Hanns went from being a freshman to a senior within a month of being enrolled at Hillsborough High. He re-ceived many awards at the school and graduated with Honors. In 2011, he graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also pursued a Master's degree in Medical Science at University of South Florida. In 2012, he gained admission to Florida Inter-national University’s medical school, in Miami. In May 2016, he graduated as a doctor of medicine. Hanns was undertaking his residency at the Univer-sity of Chicago Hospital, when he met his untimely death on June 16th, 2017. Kwabena was a pillar of the family. He also had a positive effect on almost everyone that met him- family, friends, church members and Ghanaians in Florida. Kwabena was an affable person. Indeed, a vacuum has been created and hearts have been broken. Kwabena Hanns, you have left your widowed mother, Mrs Agnes Frimpong, your brother and sister, Kwasi Evans and Akua Afriyie, the entire family, friends and loved ones, in tears and sor-row…. but in all things, we give God our creator the glory. He is our strength and comforter. Kwabena we heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “yes,” says the spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” (Revelations 14:13) KWABENA HANNS! God be with you till we meet again. “Damirifa due, due ne amanehunu”
