Henri Frank (Pollman) Plourde, 91, of Seffner, FL, passed away on August 1, 2026, surrounded by family. She is survived by sons Steve (Barbara), Peter, Bruce (Jeannine), and Chad (Jackie); daughters Joy (Bill Stephen), Mary Sue (Robert Kosky), and Rosie (Alphi Alfonso); and son-in-law Layne Williams. Henri, affectionately known by all as “Mumsie”, leaves behind a legacy of love including 36 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. Throughout their lives Mumsie and Papaw lovingly took every opportunity available to support and participate in their grandchildren’s upbringing. Henri was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie and Gordon; sisters Grace and Mary; son John; daughter Angie; daughter-in-law Micki; and her beloved husband, Pete, who passed in June 2025.
Born October 23, 1934, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Frankie Amelia (Bradley) Pollman and Gordon F. Pollman, she was the second of three daughters including Grace Stokes and Mary Janosky. When she was a child, her family moved from her hometown in Mississippi to Tampa, Florida where she spent her formative years and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. There, she formed lasting friendships with her high school classmates and remained in close contact with them throughout her life.
Henri met the love of her life, Alfred John (Pete) Plourde, at a USO dance at MacDill AFB. In just over a year, they were married on Valentine’s Day in 1953 and honeymooned in Niagara Falls. Henri lived her life as a dedicated military wife often relying on the support of friends when Pete was away. She generously offered her support to other families in similar need. She dedicated her life to raising their nine children, nourishing them with unconditional love, and growing their faith through the example of her trust in God, love of Jesus, and profound devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Later in life, Henri and her eldest daughter, Joy, returned to school together and earned their registered nursing degrees and licensure. Throughout her nursing career, Henri touched many lives with her genuine love of others and compassion for those in need.
Henri’s faith was inspirational. She was an active member of the Catholic Church throughout her life participating in ministries including the Catholic Ladies’ Guild, Marriage Encounter, Pre-Cana, and other faith formation. She served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion and regularly worshiped through Eucharistic Adoration, daily prayer, and recitation of the rosary. She was a devoted member of the Legion of Mary at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Seffner for many years and established a ministry of making and distributing rosaries at the parish. Henri dedicated her life to Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and strived to grow in faith through pilgrimage and travel to holy sites including Fatima, Mejugori, and the Holy Land. Henri led a selfless life; a life of love and service to our Lord. All those who encountered her were touched by God’s love.
