

Born November 20, 1933, in Cottondale Florida, he was the son of the late Robert Brooks Gainer and Gussie Jewell Pitts. Mr. Adams attended Ft. Lauderdale High School and upon graduation worked with the FBI, and then served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force spanning over 22 years. He was a Korean War veteran and Mason.
He later worked for the swimming pool industry in southern Florida. He was a devoted family man, and his life was full of love and affection as he loved spending time with his family. He was a consummate gentleman and cared for his family deeply, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished the years he was able to participate in their lives.
He met Marilyn and they married on March 27th, 1955. He is survived by two sons, William Adams and wife Liz Adams of Knoxville Tennessee, Henry B Adams Jr. and wife Sherry Adams of Raleigh N.C, and daughter Anneliese Steed and husband Eric Steed of Winter Haven Florida. Grandchildren, Amy Adams, Brooke Adams, Scott Adams, Loral Hauff and husband Michael Hauff, Tara Buckner and husband Eric Buckner, Kyle Adams, and Maddox Steed. Great grandchildren Haiden Adams, Joshua Adams, Brooklyn Neal, Xander Adams, Damon Hedrick, Daylon Grant, Lilianna Hauff, Jade Buckner, and Callie Buckner. Great great grandchild Jayden Adams.
In addition to his wife Marilyn June Adams, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Nolan Adams.
Services will be at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144, on September 12, 2024 at 11AM. Military Honors will be bestowed by the USAF Honor Guard. Location of service will be the Committal Shelter near Section 12.
