

Howard Joseph Workowski, born on May 21,1929 to Joseph and Elizabeth Workowski, was called home to heaven on August 9, 2020. Howie's early years were spent excelling in high school wrestling, followed by football at the University of Illinois. During college, he was called for service in the Korean War. During this service, he was hand selected by General Douglas MacArthur to serve as a personal bodyguard. After the war, Howie returned home to complete college and marry the love of his life, Dorothy "Dottie" Mae Haton. Howie enjoyed a distinguished 40 year career in the pharmaceutical industry, amassing numerous sales awards. Once retiring, he dedicated himself into the service of his wife, family, and those in need through the St. Stephen's Ministry. Howie and his beloved Dottie were blessed with an amazing 67 year journey together while enjoying a family of 5 children- Kim, Karen, Kris, Keith and Karla, their spouses- Charles, Brian, Kevin and Randee and 10 fantastic grandchildren- Anna, Alison, Katie, Erin, Bradley, Brian, AJ, Joshua, Alexis and Arielle. Howie is survived by his brother Kenneth Workowski and sister Gerry Kudla.
Howie loved God, his family, and his country. May he now rest in peace.
Visitation:
August 17, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 West Bearss Avenue, Tampa Florida. Visitation from 5:00-6:00 pm followed by a wake service 6:00-7:00 pm.
Funeral Service:
Mass on August 18, 2020 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 12708 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested by the family that donations be made to Seasons Hospice of Tampa, Florida.
