

Nazario-Ortiz, Humberto, 92, known as “Berto, el Compay” passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016. Originally from Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, he and his loving wife of 65 years moved to Florida in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Irma “la Nazarena”, his loving son Ricardo and his wife, Rosa Ayala; devoted daughter, Iris Nazario; grandchildren, Ricardo and Ramces Nazario, Ruth Jordan and their beautiful families. He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandkids, Isabella, Anna, Ricardo Andres, Kelly, Nellie, Nicole; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his faithful companion “Pee Wee”, his beloved dog. He enjoyed watching baseball games and was a longtime Yankees fan. He enjoyed family reunions and having a fun time playing dominoes, in which he was an avid player. A visitation to celebrate Berto’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 3:00 – 4:00pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, Tampa, FL 33618 with a service to follow at 4:00pm. A burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 1:00pm. Flowers gladly accepted or donations can be made to LifePath Hospice of Tampa Bay.
