Jack met his beautiful wife, Linda, at USF in 1989, when both were cast in the same one act play! They were married in Jamaica on the 14th of February 1991.
Jack was employed originally at Telecredit, which later became Fidelity Information Services. He worked as a financial analyst for several decades until his retirement.
Finance was far from Jack's only interest! He was active in local radio, co-hosting the Sunday Simcha show on WMNF for several years. The show featured Jewish entertainment and culture.
In addition, Jack and Linda spent many joyful years promoting and participating in community theater. They acted, directed, managed, did sound, lighting, advertising, casting and coaching for The Carrollwood Players of Tampa. In their years there, they both became dear to many of their fellow thespians and are remembered fondly to this day.
After retirement, Jack began writing screen plays and short stories. He submitted many of his works to national contests. Taking the advice given, he honed his craft and worked diligently to refine his product. At the time of his passing, he had completed 17 screenplays.
Jack is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Priester Steeley, his sister, Jo Ann Putnam, niece, Christina Hutchins and her husband and daughters, David, Savannah and Madison, respectively.
Jack will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A generous and kind man – one with a sharp and dry sense of humor. He will be cherished with fond memories.
