THOMPSON, Jack H. 89 of Tampa, Florida the Lord took him home on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Jack was a native of Tampa. He was predeceased by his son Robert Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara; daughters, Norma Jeanne Alman, Jackie Sturdivant (Steve) and Nancy Womack (Ray); 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jack was a very active and contributing member of Tampa. He served in the United States Army National Guard, Member of the Scottish Rite, Thirty-Third Free Masonry, Member of the Clearwater Bombers World Championship Softball Team. He was a member of The Jefferson High School Hall of Fame, Graduate of The University of Tampa, and for 42 years was a respected teacher and coach in the Hillsborough and Pinellas County School System. “Coach” never met a stranger and was a great friend and mentor to all.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Florida 33618. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends on (today) Monday, October 1, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel.
