James "Roy" Sturgeon, age 89, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Monday August 19, 2019. James was born September 18, 1929 in Hockerville, Oklahoma to Georgia Opal Forbes Sturgeon and Elmer Obadiah Sturgeon.

James is survived by; daughter Valorie Marleen Chapman; daughter Karen Delphine Valdez; and son James DenEl Sturgeon; brother Olen Dale Sturgeon and brother Philip Victor Sturgeon.

James was preceded in death by; son James Leroy Sturgeon; wife Delia Valdez Sturgeon; father Elmer Obadiah Sturgeon and mother Georgia Opal Forbes Sturgeon; brother David Arthur Sturgeon; brother Elmer Eugene Sturgeon and brother Buddy Joe Sturgeon; nephew Kevin Dale Sturgeon.

A visitation for James will be held Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at River of Life Christian Center, 6605 Krycul Avenue, Riverview, Florida, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 PM.
