Jeffrey Brattain, of Tampa, FL, passed away on November 11th. He was 71 years old; and though he faced many difficult health issues towards the end, he is finally at rest, and was surrounded by loved ones. Jeffrey Brattain was born on December 8th, attended First Ward and Hillsborough High, and lived in Tampa for most of his life.
While he dabbled in several small businesses, Jeffrey Brattain was the vice president and operated Acclaim Cabinets Inc. in Tampa for over 20+ years. Often times he would remark that he'd forgotten more about the kitchen cabinetry business than other salesmen even knew. While he was a master salesman, Jeffrey was able to help everybody he encountered with their needs to get them what they wanted. He also helped his friends and colleagues if they ever needed anything.
In addition to being a businessman, Jeffrey was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Kickers soccer club for 28 years. With his several soccer teams he coached, Jeffrey won 17 states titles, 4 Southeast Regional titles,1 national title, and an innumerable amount of tournaments all over the United States. He really enjoyed watching football, loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and watched all their games. He often said, “Bo [Jackson] knows Football, and Jeff knows Soccer!” The last several years he had become invested in watching Soap Operas. He loved his beagles, Butch and Hank. A time or two he was known for jumping out of a plane.
Everyone who knew Jeffrey Brattain knew how enduring and dedicated he was. Jeff was full of determination and perseverance and loyalty, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with Jeffrey. Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, James; his mother, Joyce; and his older brother, Jim; and he is survived by his loving wife, Rete; his sons: Jason, Jamie, and Jesse; and his daughter, Tonia; and his grandchildren: Jacob, Christian, Jagar, Kyla, Jeffrey, Jadyn, and David; and his great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Jacquelyn, Josiah, Kinzley, Messiah, and Million, along with an abundance of friends. He dearly loved his family and gave his all for his wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss him more than words can say, and he will be forever loved and remembered forever. Rest easy, great man.
Services will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood Chapel located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618 on Saturday, November 26th, at 3pm. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm. All are welcome to attend.
