

Jennie Scott was born in Trenton, NJ, 5/28/1924, Giannina, (but was known as Jennie), to Domenico and Gaetana Turano of Bisignano, Italy. Her siblings were Vince, Gigi, Eda, and Lucy, and predeceased Gracie.
She graduated from Trenton High (night school), married Joseph Scott in 1945 (honeymooning at the Waldorf Astoria, NYC, the night of the end of WW II). She remained married until Joseph’s death in 2007. Joe and Jennie moved to, and lived in Levittown, Pa. from 1951 until Jennie’s move to Tampa in 2020.
They had 2 sons, Joseph(Lar) and David, who gave them 4 grandchildren - Rachel, Andrew, David and Joseph. Jennie worked as an assistant buyer at Pomeroy's department store for 35 years. She loved her Italian traditions of cooking, meals, and family get-togethers w/ Italian music on Sundays. Jennie had a beautiful soft voice, especially when singing lullaby’s and humming w/music. She was an avid reader of novels and watcher of movies. She had an acute memory in general, remembering books, authors, movies, actors and actresses. Jennie had a strong, tough personality wrt balancing budgets and providing for her family. She was a loving listener of family, friends and neighbors.
Jennie had an especial enjoyment of her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, Isabel, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great niece, Lucy, cousins, second cousins, daughter and brother and sister-in-laws and their families.
Jennie was adept at Scrabble, and crosswords, and enjoyed family and friend card games. She was very independent and drove until the age of 95. She never smoked or drank – cussed some. Jennie was a spotless housekeeper, enjoying her home. She was opinionated- good and bad, but opinionated. Jennie was spiritual about life but not religious. She enjoyed her dining/friends/neighbors at Angels in Florida. Jennie liked the black dog. She remained insightful and engaged until she passed on December 10, 2021
