

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne Gibson, originally from Gainesville, Florida; his son William E. Gibson, of St. Petersburg, Florida; and his brother and sister, Randy P. Gibson (Atlanta) and Connie Jane Fusco (Odessa). He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Earl Gibson, of Tampa, FL; his mother, Eva Mae Price of Atlanta, GA; and his numerous aunts and uncles.
Jerry was born on February 2, 1954 in Tampa, FL to parents Eva Price Gibson and Ray Gibson. He graduated from Leto High School in Tampa, FL with a degree in high school studies. After graduating High School, Jerry joined the Army where he would meet his beloved wife, Joanne F. Gibson. Jerry proudly served for his country in Germany, Korea and Turkey before finishing his duty. After returning home to Tampa, FL, he would go on to accept a position as a Communications Supervisor for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked with passion for more than 30 years. Jerry was a great family man, a loving father, and a true patriot to our country.
Jerry was a social, active man who was deeply involved in ham radio for the majority of his life. He enjoyed classic hot rods, his family of car enthusiasts and his hometown sports teams. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, gentle and loving man.
A funeral is scheduled for Jerry on Monday June 7th, at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Carrollwood, with Military Burial Ceremony to follow at the Florida National Cemetery.
