Joan P Layton

Joan Patricia Layton passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. She was 84 years young. She is a native of Glen Ridge New Jersey and was born on June 1, 1941. She was educated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Grammar and High School. She was married to Robert E. Layton for 62 years. She spent her early career as Vice President of Cemdust Inc., a family run construction business, and then a second career as concierge manager of the JW Marriott on Marco Island, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Margaret Aloysius Manning, and her husband Robert Ellsworth Layton.

She is survived by her brother Robert Manning, her sons Steven and Brian Layton, grandchildren Shaughn, Madelynn, and Sydney Layton, and daughter's in law Suzanne and Doreena Layton.

Joan was a light of hope to everyone.

She was a dedicated life and business partner to her husband who passed in April 2025.

They were childhood friends who reconnected as teens fell in love, and raised a family in New Jersey.

She was a dedicated Catholic who spread the word of Jesus Christ. She became a spiritual leader of her Adult Living Facility in Naples , FL.

She raised her children with her husband with respect, dignity and accountability. She dedicated herself to her grandchildren.

Her family honors her life now and at her death.
