

He was born February 1, 1923 and raised in Ybor city child of Marie and Autonino Capitano, one of 11 children. He was always loving and kind to everyone putting his Lord first, then his family and friends. Joe was a humble servant of his Lord and to his church. Joe served in the Army during World War II, South Pacific Theater. Joe met and married Catherine Lala his wife of 60+ years. They had four children: Karen (Christopher) Thompson, Gail Ward - deceased, Joseph (Kathleen) Capitano, David Capitano - deceased. Grandchildren: Catherine (Keith) Donahue, Christopher (Stephanie) Todd, Jonathan Mark Ward and Nicole Capitano, Great-grandchildren: Dylan (Kendra) Denzik, Chelsea and Taylor Todd: several nieces and nephews, along with many loving family members and friends. Joe was an entrepreneur with his own Barbershop ”Cappy’s” for 40+ years retiring at 85 years old. He enjoyed Sunday’s with his family for spaghetti at 12:00 sharp.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 AM with Interment following at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
