John Carlsen, age 68, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 22nd, 2021 in the late afternoon, at his home. John is preceded in death by his biological parents, John and Marie Carlsen of Brooklyn, New York. John was married to Lisa, his soulmate of 38 years. They did everything together while enjoying life with Tara, their daughter, age 29 who is married to Andres Caesar.
John was an extremely caring, loving, dedicated and involved parent to Tara. John was Tara’s knight in shining armor!! John always explained to Tara that education was her first priority. He enjoyed attending her soccer games and other sports, always coaching her on.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; daughter, Tara Caesar and husband, Andres of Orlando, Florida; sister, Inger Anderson and husband, John of Brooklyn, N.Y.; cousins who reside in Norway and in Florida; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Beck, Eileen Miller, Pam Rufrano; nephews, Michael Fingerhut and wife, Dawn, Allen Fingerhut; nieces, Rikki Rufrano and Melanie Rufrano, numerous extended family and friends. John cherished all his family members.
John worked for The Tampa James A. Haley Hospital for the past 29 years serving our military veterans and had recently retired to enjoy travel in the U.S. and abroad. One of his favorite places to travel was Cozumel, Mexico and The Cayman Islands. He had a vast love of the ocean, enjoyed gardening, fishing, hockey and all sports, photography, cooking exotic dishes, and baking delicious breads or cakes. John loved people and life itself! The one most important thing to know about John is that he Loved caring for all people. John’s heart was always opened to all and he listened well to others. He was a loyal individual to all he came across and was embraced by his closest friends. He is forever loved and will always be celebrated!!
